Probably another futile post, but I HAVE to keep trying. I tried finasteride for a year in 2015 which caused unexplainable inflammation, which continues to this day.

It's unbearable. I can't cope with this.

Now, it is this INTENSE pressure throughout the entire hair line. Like blood is just rushing to the area all the time. Burning also. I have itching and crawling through midscalp and crown, which basically stops on the sides and back in the NW7 pattern. Still losing way too much hair throughout.

Here's what I've tried religiously.

-minoxidil
-stemox
-antiinflammatory supplements - curcumin, tumeric, etc...
- sprays - metaderm

The only thing that ACTUALLY works is drinking, which I cannot continue to do. If I don't drink, my nights are a nightmare just because of the horrendous inflammation.
This seems absurd, but could try oral dutasteride. I never had scalp inflammation or irritation before starting finasteride and minoxidil. Continued to lose hair on both. Horrible irritation while taking them, but continued. I assumed it was the minoxidil at first, but even after stopping it I had continued inflammation and irritation. Switched to dutasteride like 6-7 months ago for 2.5 months. Scalp inflammation and itch dropped significantly. Got sides, low libidio, ED, so dropped dutasteride. Back on finasteride for 2-3 months or so now, and my scalp inflammation and irritation is nearly non-existent. Still losing hair though.

hey bro. it could be a mild allergic reaction to finasteride or to the others meds or supplement that you are using. your body release histamine which cause inflammation and itching.

you can try to quit finasteride 1-2 weeks. if the sides persist it's something else. maybe from minoxidil.

where do people do that? I am in the US.

I have no idea man, in Europe seems some clinics do offer them but you can literally do it at home. I'm trying to formulate my own Dutasteride solution but you can order one on the net.

I've made a thread about it and some guy said he will use it with Hydra needles to apply it to a scalp. I'm thinking of using syringe and a needle to inject it.

You also having relief from drinking could imply that you have something going on with GABA receptors. You probably already are prone to anxiety and alcohol is the one that reliefs it.

Try getting to a psych to prescribe you anti anxiety meds like low dose Valium.
