1. Will not change anything, cause nothing is 100 % sure. So what you are going to do ? use a medication just in case it happen ? lol, we are not talking about cancer

2. Again, useless, gene therapy for male pattern baldness is extremly far, far, far away. We are talking about 50 years, as sooner. It simple will not happen any time soon. Simple do a reasearch about actual gene therapy, do a history research about since how long we was talking about gene therapy, and you will understand.

1. Agree to disagree. The more information you have to make a decision the better your decision will most likely be. This is another TOOL to help discover balding as early as possible. Just like checking hair line pictures over time, this will help make decisions. It's not a yes or no just because you have family history.

2. I work in genetics so I like to think I'm at least somewhat aware of the past and future gene therapy. Have you heard of CRISPR-CAS9? It's look quite promising for changing the genetics of living animals.

Lest Face it, Finasteride is an insane approach to stop balding. You are eliminating 70% of the stronger androgen ( yep, much, much, stronger than testosterone ) do you really think that, sooner or later, it will not cause a strong unbalance in your whole body? It is a more than 20 years old drug, actually almost 30 for BPH , things changed a lot during this 3 decades and we now know a lot more about hormones than when FDA approve this none sense approach to treat male pattern baldness .

I agree. And while I know this is the future treatments sub, finding the underlying mechanisms behind male pattern baldness will help us find future treatments. We hate that finasteride and minoxidil are the best treatments we have for regrowth right now.

Ideally that's what we want to do long term, in the mean time we want to give any useful info we can.

The finasteride response test takes 12 weeks lol? Enough time to just take the pill and see what it does

Tried fish oils and noticed it got worse. Fing tried everything, f*****g sucks. Tried MCT oil lately and thought it helped but nope. Tried C 60 in olive oil as well no luck there either.

This is after 20 years of everything from finasteride, min, nizoral, prp, a cell, lasers, dutasteride, you name it...nothing has stopped this train without severe side effects. Had to eventually stop finasteride after about 15 years, hormones were all fucked up!! Sucks guys hopefully something comes soon!
Did you recover from finasteride sides eventually?
