Re: Irishpride86's Story - (22 / Propecia 4 mounth update PICS!)
I dunno man, I reckon you should wait a bit like you planned, but it is up to you.
The pics of page 9 are really what makes me think you should just wait and see where your hair goes from here. You had good density when you started, it had thinned significantly after 5 months. It is hard to tell from your latest pic because it isn't comparing both at shaved length, but it looks like you are closer to you baseline now that you have stopped.
This:
Compared to this:
just doesn't seem right in my opinion.
I'm seeing a similar thing, going on propecia as a preventive, but now I'm thinning madly which I never was before (I only got on to slow down minor temple recession). I mean I know I was destined to bald (my dad was bald early), but I can say undoubtedly it was never going to happen this quickly, propecia has seemingly sped up the process for some reason. It just makes me think maybe getting on it to early, while you still have most your hair and trying to use it as a deterrent for male pattern baldness (especially while you are young, still developing;I'm 21, you're 22).
Maybe only use minoxidil for a while if you insist on going on something, the hairs you lost will still be active and minoxidil should be able to regrow these. finasteride has clearly reacted badly with you I think, I think you should wait the minimum time you were going to and reassess, if it has gotten worse then react, if not leave it.
If it continues to get worse down the track, then throw all these things at it.
In saying all that, I am definitely interested to see if you do go the path of using everything, it will test the waters for what I should do

Anyways I appreciate your updates, so keep em coming, I really do hope you find what's right for you (although it doesn't look to bad in your latest pic like I said, closer to your baseline than before anyways and I know I would kill to be back at my baseline!)
Oh btw, what is your shedding like atm and what was it like when you were on finasteride? And did you ever mention your family history of balding, not sure if I browsed over it in this thread before.
Cheers man.
