So, ive been balding for the best of 5 years now (since 17 rofl), but i think things are finally starting to get dramatic. Should i jump on propecia already? I have a appointment with the doctor who should prescribe it to me on november 22, but i dont know if i should wait this much.

Hard to tell from that pic angle but probably a norwood 2. Perfect time for treatment, wish I'd started a year earlier and mine would have been like yours instead of a diffused norwood 3.

Norwood 2 with only minor miniaturisation. You'll be fine if you're on finasteride.

no hair loss imo. can you show us "before" pics?

kind of irresponsible to jump on finasteride. if you actually have hair loss there is no way you would lose such a small amount in five years unless "hair loss" means losing ten strands of hair per year.

In retrospect even if you aren't balding you're better of on finasteride as a caution. It's like $100 a year and most get zero sides.

The side of caution is being on finasteride, not letting yourself go bald enough for it to be very noticeable and then doing so.

Just make sure you actually have male pattern baldness before you start on finasteride.

Must be one of the dumbest advices ive seen on here, starting on finasteride just as a precaution.

2-5% of people who use it get sides, 95% of people on these forums wouldn't be here if they had got on finasteride when they thought they saw the first signs of change, rather than waiting until they were a norwood 3.

Dumbest advice is believing superstition of a the select few who get sides rather than accepting what the studies and independent studies on finasteride say.

I think my biggest pet peeve is "should I take propecia?" threads. Propecia is a weak *** drug that barely does sh*t. All this handwringing is over nothing.

Taking it as a precaution is no big deal either once you're through puberty.

So you're saying you'd take finasteride and risk getting sides even if you werent balding?

If I weren't balding, I would take finasteride just for my peace of mind and as a preventive measure for prostate cancer. Decrease in body hair from finasteride is also good.
