ive thought about my thyroid. cant remember my exact numbe it was on the high end but within range, i think was 4 though. so thats relatively high right? f*****g doctors told me is was fine lol
I think they have changed the values and the regular range nowadays is between 0.4 and 2.5. Might depend on your country or maybe even doctor.

cheers mate! i forgot to ask to add me :)

I did if it does not work jus tell me I will copy it and send you what he uses and works for him.

I hope he was not banned for life--i know he has a silly humor and committed forum suicide so I dont think he was 'innocent' but he had some good hair loss info that was working for him that he can share with people.

My Mom had hair loss and it was worse in my opinion because of her thyroid and also many years apparently of not knowing she was a diabetic (possibly 5 to 10 years time span)
i think these two things and the sh*t load of medications she had to take after being diagnosed added to her hair loss and then menopause she did not take HRT that just pushed her off cliff so to speak
she also apparently was anemic and did not know it for a few years.
also after every time she had surgery with anesthesia her hair loss took a hit..(especially heart surgery she just shaded like crazy to do with life support)

My point is her eyebrows never grew back due to thyroid, she lost a lot of eyebrow hair and she also had trouble hair 'growing' long.
Also her body hair was like crazy bare even in her 30s she noticed her body hair just lessened and lessened from when she was a teenager.
her hair length was also effected by 30 it was very hard for her to grow hair long then to the neck/shoulder length.

Hope that helps.

sh*t man, sounds brutal.must have been tough for her.

i will def look into any underlying health issues i might have.

speaking of eye brows, mine are pretty thick still. would this indicate i prob dont have a thyroid problem?

I am not sure across board if that is all thyroid patients brows and body hair are effected.

My Mom hair looked 'okay' for a long time mostly due to the styles of that time..(women wore shorter hair as they got older in 70s and 80s even 90s) and she 'puffed' it up for a long time...but once she hit menopause it just took a harsh hit.

I will go on HRT when times comes for sure--women are terrified of HRT--I am terrified to lose more hair and get a fat belly.
f*** that bring on hormones. Just have to make sure they are right ones etc. ugh LOL.
I need a Gyno who is male to female transgender LOL they know everything about hormones more than Doctors. (Jk sort of)

Alot of guys here think of blaming thyroid. Bottom line is if your Doctor doesnt put you on meds you aint got a thyroid problem and def not one that could cause hairloss.

Im hypothyroid (diagnosed) and have to take pills everyday for it. If anything i find it doesnt cause loss but sometimes a decrease in hair quality, same goes for nails. My hair is quite dry and wirey because of thyroid. I dont believe it really causes loss though unless your untreated. And your levels arent out of range to be medically treated

I dont remember the posters name BUT we did have a guy who had thyroid AND hair loss that was greatly helped when he got on thyroid medications...so I think everyone is different.

Yes he had a thyroid issue then lol..being small but out of range is not thyroid issue. Its normal. You could retest it day later and be in range. Alot of guys here to cling to hope thats whats causing hairloss because they get a result a tiny bit out of range. If you have an issue youl be put on meds like myself.

Too thin to be normal male pattern baldness. Smh sorry bro but nw6 is wayyyyyy too late in the game for you to be in denial about your male pattern baldness. Especially considering the unreal results you got from propecia, this is all just really aggressive male pattern baldness. #prayforbrotzu

When I was healthy my TSH was around 0.7 that's when I was 18 years old.
At 20 when I had a fuckload of symptoms and my entire head of hair thinned out all over my head, it was 6.
Doctors are absolutely abysmal and diagnosing thyroid problems and the 'treatment' is even worse than that.
I've tried every thyroid hormone combination under the sun from T4 & T3 (Synthroid, cynomel) and NDT (Armour, Thiroyd) and none ever made me feel normal.
Nutrition, supplements, red light therapy and lifestyle adjustment did more to fix my thyroid than anything doctors ever gave me.

Think about it - there is hardly any reason for your donor to thin, Androgenetic Alopecia is not supposed to affect it, and if your TSH was 4 - you are definitely hypothyroid, I guarantee it. The good news is, you have a fair shot of fixing it without having to be a lifelong slave to Synthroid.

Bro, if you can't use finasteride, start again minoxidil don't listen this guys who say minoxidil stop works after 1 year of use it's not true at all...many guys are using minoxidil for like 5, 10, 20 years and still hair.... Have a guy who using minoxidil for like a decade and still hair and his brothers, uncle and son are complete bald

And your sides doesn't looks to bad, I had saw young with thin sides like yours and still perfect hairlines

Sit down and wait for the new treatments

Take care

when you fixed your thyroid issues, did you hair improve? or at least slow down?

im not in denial lol. i know i have male pattern baldness. but maybe i have other issues that are accelerating it. no one in my immediate famly has hair loss issues this young, especially this aggressively. it might be too late now anyway as ive lost a lot of hair. but maybe if i did something earlier i may have been able to slow things down a bit

I would try micro-dosing finasteride if I were you, but if you're ok with losing it all, then don't do anything.

Then again, I don't know how bad your sides truly were. But the sides of going slick bald would be much worse for me, so that's why I pop the pill.

My last TSH test 6 months ago showed 3.5, so I am not completely healed yet. I would consider myself healed with a TSH less than 1, and of course, without any symptoms and if I felt great.
That said, I've started taking iodine and doing red light therapy, it's too early to tell but it seems like my donor is not looking as shitty as before. Normally I would buzz it very short every week but now, when I grow it out, it doesn't look too terrible. Normally it used to be instantly visible I was sick by how thin my donor was, even more than the hair on top which has been somewhat thickened by minoxidil and treatment.

I noticed an overall hair thinning everywhere on my head when I went hypothyroid, so if I succeed in treating it completely I would expect all that to reverse. I had insanely thick hair when I was healthy and I would definitely notice the change again.
