ok so I just had a blood test done to measure my Free T, testosterone, and DHT levels.

My free T was 98.2 (range is 35.0 - 155.0)

Total testosterone was 521 (range is 250 - 1100)

and the one that threw me off was my DHT level at 21 (range is from 25 - 75)

Now I thought elevated levels of DHT caused hair loss, am I wrong? I mean I'm only 24, but over the past year it has been spreading rapidly, from a norwood 1 to a norwood 3 in almost just 1 year's time. What would you guys make of all this?

It seems to have really thinned at the crown and my hairline is disappearing by the day. Also it looks like the "middle" of my hair is thicker thatn the rest, even the hair above my ears has thinned, even behind my head close to my neck.

The aspect of hair being thicker "in the middle" (if you are referring to the strip of slightly thicker hair that seems to divide the thin ares in the back in half) to me is one of the biggest visual clues to give credit to the skull expansion theory

i work 30 hours a week, no school right now.

and it's funny you say that, because i used to be really out of shape, and 4 years ago i lost 60 pounds and my hat size actually shrunk! i used to wear a size 7 and 7/8 and now I wear a 7 3/8.

I also have high blood pressure and take a medication, I've read maybe this could have an effect on it?

I have to ask, before, did school/work involve long hours per session rather than on a weekly basis? Thanks.

NOTE that I am not a medical professional. So dont take this as a professional advice. My take on anti-hypertensive drugs is it may contribute to male pattern baldness.

My suggestion is to look for non-pharmacological ways of blood pressure management - that which involves physical activity which are similar to stress management techniques.

The guy is losing hair in the typical male pattern baldness area

If someone is going to give him advice, stick to the proved treatments, don't make him lose time

There is a correlation with elevated DHT levels and hair loss, but it all comes down to the follicle sensitivity to it. Some people shoot steroids all their life and have no thinning or recession

I'm also thinning in the same "weird" areas (that area that cuts from the temples to the back of the neck)
I think we all want to believe there is something else, but I've seen several other cases where that area is very thin or completely lost so I believe it's just another pattern of androgenic hair loss

Yea my Derm sent my blood results to an endocrinologist and they also believe it's just ordinary male pattern baldness.

Right now I'm currently looking for a treatment other than finasteride to help me. I was on finasteride + Rogaine Foam from April - October last year, and during that time I seen several sides. Brain fog, lower libido, and increased fat gain (probably due to me being so sensative to estrogen....i gain weight really easy).

I've been thinking the one thing that might work well is RU, but I have had trouble finding where to buy it, how to use it, how much to apply, etc.
