ive seen pics of him when he was from the ages 25-30, he had a Norwood 2, but he died before i was born and he bailed on my mom and grandma when my mom was like 10, so i dunno really what his loss past 30 looked like, i have seen his brother though,he had his nw2 when he was in his late 50's, my grandmas brothers also have good hair till theirs 80s. so i kinda feel like hes the missing piece of the puzzle to make me not worry, as of right now, i dont know anyone in my family that went past norwood 3, my dads maternal grandad was a norwood 3 around 50ish and he never progressed past it, my dads a solid norwood 2 at 54 with no thining or anything, my dads brother is 58 and he has a norwood 2 with no problems either. if i could see my what maternal grandfather looked like at 50, id be happy and wuldnt worry so much lol

You're wrong. First picture his hair is combed back, revealing slight temple recession. Second picture his hair around his temples is down and to the side, covering the temples. Mystery solved. Shouldn't you guys know by now that pictures can be deceiving.

Not to mention the heavyier use of gel in the first pic and the different lighting conditions 1 pic appears to be outside the other inside.

My point is, if some of you guys are this critical about less than half and inch of space on the head, then how crazy are you going to get when you advance to nw4 for god's sake?

Exactly, you kind of learn to accept the reality of whats happening. But you still hate being bald much more than being just slightly balding.

I've seen your pics Kerzyguy and I know its easier said than done, but you need to relax because your hair is great and you should be grateful for it. I'm pretty sure you will never even advance to an nw3. You're quite lucky.

I, for one, have definitely become less crazy despite way more baldness than when it first started.

Ditto, I cared ALOT more when I was 17 and had miniscule, unnoticeable recession than I do now.

Thick and Thin.....His hairstyles are different - I comb mine back, I have recession, I style it like the second pic, my hairline looks almost straight.. - Really think he'd risk a hair transplant for than tiny bit of recession? Stop being a 'Norwood Spotter', it will drive you insane.

[quote="s.a.f":ekucg83e]I think you and I have different opinions of what a leading man is.

I'm talking about actors who are the main protagonists in their movies. Perhaps you're referring to romantic leading actors, in which case most of the time you'll have two very good looking male and female leads because those movies exist for the sole purpose of making money. But actors like Gene Hackman, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Sean Penn, Edward Norton, etc. did not make their careers on their looks.[/quote:ekucg83e]

I dont think we're going to agree on this but although none of those guys are models they have ok looks can you imagine them as up and coming actors in their 20's with NW4's or weighing 250lbs, still think they'd have made it?

Being 250 lbs is gonna severely limit you to specific types of acting roles, so chances are they wouldn't have made it when you look at how those actors got started. But I certainly don't think it's nearly as bad being bald. Being butt-ugly with a full head of hair is worse than being good-looking while being an NW4. At least with the latter you can invest in an expert hair-piece, much like how Ben Affleck does. And you also have to realize that there are just tons and tons of good-looking guys with perfect hair who don't make it in Hollywood. Talent and charisma are gonna get you much farther than looks. Now being bald certainly doesn't make it easier, but I seriously doubt that the difference between success and failure is going to be your hair. Hollywood places much more emphasis on women's looks as opposed to men.

Last year John Travolta was asked about his hair. You can see the clip here. Someone mentions George Clooney in the same clip. I dont think GC is losin it, is he?

btw, what do u suspect Travolta uses? Only his hairdresser knows for sure?

Travolta handled that situation well.
And despite the video title being about hairloss only 3 of the 30 odd comments left mentioned it so I think that just goes to show how bothered the general public are about it.

Clooney isn't balding..I read an interview with him earlier in the year where he had to go on the net, google his name and answer rumours about himself. He said he actually has to shave a widow's peak bit at the front to give himself a straight hairline. B*stard.

His main problem seems to be he is going very grey ..he doesn't hide the fact when he's not filming though.

I think the better question would be why most athletes have great hair. Even old man Warner is a winner in that department.

Travolta definitely has something that covers it.
