the only ones maybe would be Kevin Costner in Braveheart
and Tom Hanks in the patriot
But Mel was brilliant in both....

Its just that he has a great charismatic personality that he can get away with acting like himself and make such great money.
The Patriot sucked, so did Braveheart. They were both standard hollywood trite, very predictable good vs evil, hero vs villian. In real life Im sure the roles were not nearly that well defined, but that would take a creative script and insightfull actors to pull off - much riskier than just throwing actors with big names at a silly, simplistic story.
Im sorry to have to say this but EVERY movie is predictable.......except for those thrillers nobody understands till the last 5 minutes of the movie......and saying that its a good vs evil story.......99% of all movies are that....but then again braveheart and the patriot would be predictable and also very good vs evil seeing as they were movies based upon events that already happened.
