To the people talking about how terrible it is to lose your hair I get it its bad but why would u let it ruin your whole life , talking about killing yourself because your losing hair in my opinion is pathetic there's people who have illnesses and are losing it and I even saw someone say the worst part of cancer would be to lose your hair ? Are u f'ing serious I hope the person who wrote that sees this because your pathetic buddy I'd like to see u say that after you've been diagnosed with cancer , and people saying how they hate to see people with a full head of hair lmao thats pathetic are u guys really that jealous of other people , I came in this forum to maybe hear some positive things people had to say but most of u are ridiculous why would you come on a forum every single day and just talk about how bad your life is now without hair and you hate to watch tv and see all the commercials and stuff... I have an idea why don't u stop complaining about your life online and go take a walk outside. Seriously, that's all I gotta say and I am in most of your guys situation I'm 21 and am losing hair on my crown..but the last thing I'm gonna do is come to a forum and say a bunch of negative things that people in my boat can see to make them feel bad too..

Losing hair is the worst part of having cancer. I don't say it, people suffering from cancer have stated it many times. It's what makes you look ill, what separates you from other people.

Losing hair at the crown, how horrible it must be for you. You don't know what we are going through. Take a walk outside? You want to try with a NW5?

I'm used to it now, I live my life bald right now, and pretty well for that matter. But it doesn't prevent me from being seen less than sometimes, always the odd question on why I have no hair, people mocking me in bars, guys touching my head, even kissing it (yes it happened this week end), people telling me I should work out, as if it was mandatory for my to make up for not looking like them. I'm not even offended anymore, I understand. I'm a 24 years old bald guy and it's not normal to society.

Don't talk about things can't even comprehend. Don't insult us. Try living a week with your head shaved to the bone, then come back and tell us how people don't mind it and how you life is the same.

yes that is it , you feel separated from other people, if not people will MAKE you feel separated... its worse if you have standout features, if you are tall and burly, or short and skinny then you will be attacked for fitting a negative image be it sickness or "evil/a bad person".

After I tried shaving my hair I felt horrible for weeks until it grew back. I felt physically sick. It's not a good life trust me.... maybe you can still live nicely being only your crown has lost hair... you can conceal it easy. Not for those of us who are ACTUALLY receding, it changes the shape or your face, it takes away the frame.
Diffuse hair loss is a holiday compared to receding you are so lucky.

Killing oneself is an over-reaction but people here struggle with hair loss, including me! sure it is not as extreme or as painful as cancer but comparing experiences , especially bad, gets us nowhere! You know a struggle only when you go through it and it might seem stupid at the outset, but it is tough ! Yes, things could be worse than this but dude, try telling a person who has lost a limb in an accident that it could be worse, he could have died , and fyi , i am not saying losing hair = losing limb , i am just stating a "metaphor" ! We all love our youth and for most of us, it is snatched away and we get to live through on 20s just once... most people around us have a full head of hair at this age and I personally feel : why me? No one here wants any special privilege, just to blend in the crowd and have the same life as most people have , a life without insecurities, without despair, without a constant struggle. It might seem like an over-reaction but trust me, stuff builds up in our head and before you know it, it becomes an entire ecosystem in itself! A constant background program that affects every part of your life!

I understand things building up in your head completely I've suffered with depression a lot of my life. But to say you wish you had a life like most people , a life without insecurities despair or a struggle is a life that's pretty much non existent , most people's lives are just one big struggle , at least mine is anyway , and EVERYONE has insecurities, so buddy you can go out and fit in with the whole world .. Because its all in your head

I think you are pathetic for being so judgemental, because people react differently to the same situation.
If you can somehow deal with losing your hair, good on you.
But why call others pathetic for dealing with things in a different way than you? Why do you care, and how does it affect your life?
People commit suicide all over the world every day for different reasons. The one thing they have in common is that they don't see another way out.
I have talked about suicide because this is how I feel. I am still here and still fighting, but every day is a struggle.
If all fails suicide is my final way "out".
You might think this is pathetic but whatever. It's my opinion on MYSELF and MY life.

Am i the only who seems to like the thought of "sticking out" now? most here want to be like the rest and blend in etc etc (why?) ...i mean i seem to be one of the "lucky" ones who dont seem to get this negative reaction (unless you count banter from family and CLOSE friends which would be silly) people dont seem to care...and im not really "sticking out" cause there is balding/bald people everywhere (probably same for others here)...but i like the thought of people looking at me giving me all this attention but being so used to it (negative energy thrown at me) when i had HAIR i suppose i turned it round to my advantage now.
