Well here it goes.. Im a 19 yr old african american male. Im an upcoming sophmore in college. Around 17 is when i first started noticing what i thought was mild thinning on the right side of my frontal hairline due to the way i would style my hair. I keep a low cesar cut and i used to use heavy pomade in order to get the wavy style going...anyway, over the years due to my ignorance, the mild thinning progressed and started diminishing my hairline on the right side, and then slowly it started on my left side also. The right side of my hairline is worse for some reason though. I guess because that side started thinning earliest.
Anyway I believe I have went from a Norwood 1 to a Norwood 1.5 :nono:
I remember when i first decided to do something about it when i had went to my barber to get my usual cut, and he blurted "DANG, Your starting to creep back in your hairline"!. Talk about your slap in the face.
Well I know its MBP cause my dad is a Norwood 5-6 and he is 43 years old. His twin brother is also like that. His dad is a 6 or 7. My grandmother has thinning hair on both sides of the family so i think im screwed.
ANWAY TO THE MAIN STUFF...
When i was 18 with thinning/receding hairline, my hairline would itch horribly! I would scratch and scratch wondering WTF! And also my crown would itch also, even though there is no hairloss there yet. I then knew what was going down because of those certain places kept itching. I read up on hair loss and remedies and all that crap, and I found propecia, but after reading up on it and thinking about it for nearly a month,....I decided not to get on that stuff because the though I have to take a drug everyday that screws with your hormones was not an option. But i knew i had to stop dht, so thats when i found revivogen.
I have been on revivogen for about 5 months and 1 week.
When I first started using it I didnt really notice anything, but after a few weeks I noticed the reduction of that damn itching sensation. I no longer scratched my head. Oh yeah back when i noticed my hairloss, my hair would come out every time I would pull at my hairline and scratch it. Also before I used revivogen, I had used nizoral for about a few weeks thinking it would cease my hairloss, but that was just wishful thinking....Anyway
For about 2 months i really didnt notice anything different in my hair besides no more itching or hair fallout...THen in about the 3 1/2 month mark my hair started going downhill as my hair seemed to recede even more and looked even worse. I felt like giving up and decided to buy propecia and rogaine because i felt like I was wasting my time. Then after some thought i decided not to use my propecia and just use rogaine with revivogen....after a week on rogaine i quit it because i would feel awful after using it. Like i would get headaches and a clouded head, also tiredeness. Also the application made my hair look like sh*t!...anyway I decided to tough it out on revivogen until the end as my main product...
Well Now i am 5 months and 1 week on revivogen, and today I have started to notice a bunch of white little hairs on the left side of my hairline and FEW on the right! I have maintained my mildly receded state on revivogen and my hair feels normal. I believe strongly believe revivogen is halting any further hairloss. No itching or hair fall out. Also About 2 weeks ago I have been on MSM, and a week ago on Biotin supplement. Also Yesterday i have started folligen because i need a growth stimulant. I also ordered emu oil which should arrive soon. If anyone knows of a good growth stimulant besides rogaine then please drop a line!!!!.
ANyway, I will post my pics when i get the chance in the near future.
P.S. anyone want to buy a pack of propecia, i got it from inhouse?
