my finasteride story and question on revivogen

To start, I'm new to this forum and have been battling hairloss since I was 18. I started on finasteride about 6 months after an extreme shed was on it for 14 months straight and then on and off a few times again after. I can say that, in terms of hair growth, I am extremely successful with finasteride. In terms of side effects I'm very very unfortunate. I had almost every side effect you could name top to bottom, main ones being weak erections, brain fog, and depression. And there's not a chance of it being placebo. I went on at 18 rxd from my dermatologist without even thinking twice or doing a single Internet search. First two months I saw literally unbelievable growth. I noticed the side effects on the third month when went to have sex with a very hot girl and not only weirdly was nervous about it before, but couldn't get hard for the life of me and she was begging for it... anyways I said to myself what the f... and it was like a eureka moment I released I hadn't jacked off even 1 time since I started propecia. It ****ed my libido so bad that I didn't even realise I wasn't horny lol. I stuck with it though.
About 2 months after that (4 months on) my libido came even stronger than before. Every girl I saw I wanted to bang and when I was with my girlfriend I had all I could think or talk about was sex. From month 4-6 everything was perfect.
At month 6, everything went bad. My erections were 70% as hard, and I had very bad premature ejaculation. I would bust in 3-5 minutes on a good day... embarrassing to say how quick on most days.
Month 6 to 9 were the same and I'm going to remind you again that there no chance of this being placebo. My girlfriend wasn't complaining about the sex at all, and I was still getting off. To month 10 I hadn't searched finasteride or propecia on Google 1 time. Had no idea of any potential side effects, etc. (All of this from month 1-9 is me talking of sides in hindsight)
Month 10 is when she said that sex is different. The year before propecia I could have sex for 45 mins and the day she said that is when it all clicked. I did some Internet research and realized what I had been doing to myself. We broke up soon after that and since then I went back on finasteride 3 times. Each for about a month and half each, and quit each time because of weak errections and brain fog. Each time I noticed my hair thickened. And I know some will say that it's impossible to see results in a month and a half... and if I didn't see it on myself I'd agree with you. I'm not talking a little thicker, maybe, maybe not. I'm talking night and day, thinning vs not thinning at all.
Anyways here I am now 3 years later. I have a very good job make well in to 6 figures a year and projecting 200% increase for fiscal 16. Hairloss has kind of taken a backseat. It used to be all I thought about, but I realise hair or no hair ambition is what gets me by on the day to day. I am thankful to have recovered from finasteride.
BTW I recently experimented with saw palmetto, I didn't notice any hair thickening at all but my errections were about 85% for the month on and 3 weeks after I quit. I also want to mention that after the last time I tried finasteride (at a very low dose of .1 eod) I noticed anxiety that lasted for 30 days after I quit and I took 25mg of clomiphene citrate (clomid) for 4 weeks and it got my hormones and libido back in order, for anyone looking for a last resort to finasteride sides.

On to my question about revivogen. Is there any chance of this (mainly saw palmetto) going systemic? I like the thought of azelaic acid and such blocking dht locally, but I just want to hear some opinions on how concurrent the word locally can actually be forgone. You can put testosterone jell on your shoulders that goes systemic and increases Testosterone 3 fold, and minoxidil u apply to the head can go systemic so why wouldn't androgens you put on the scalp go systemic?
I really am hoping revivogen won't give me side effects, as it is extensively marketed to having the same effect as propecia but with no chance of side effects. But I just dont see how it's possible to have zero chance. Whether I get a lot of help with this question or not, I've ordered the revivogen to find out for myself but I just want some reassurances... more or less.

From what I read, I'm not convinced about revivogen:
* there's only a single study proving it's effectiveness and it is a 2008 study performed *in vitro*, so not on "live humans". So both the efficacy on a live human and systemic absorption possibility are not covered by the study.
* the claims around zinc as one of the ingredients are dubious for the same reason

I'm leaning more towards spironolactone cream, it's been tested more thoroughly and is longer on the market, see this study from 1988:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2972662
Some people claim it has systemic absorption for them, I'm planning to find this out myself through bloodwork tests - first appointment 7th of august without using spironolactone, I'm planning to start a regimen then.

Disclaimer: I'm just in the process of formulating my first regimen and done *a lot* of research the past few days, so I may not be the best source of info.

Ha, and I already thought I was the only one not to last as long as usually during intercourse while on finasteride.

What was your original dose with which you started?

I use revivogen, and I'll share with you my experience.

Honestly, it does go systematic, in my experience it did. The first 3 days I had a lower libido, as if I didn't want to have sex. But, it went away few days later. I don't want to creep you out, but I masturbated everyday and my semen quality wasn't affected, which is great. Later on it didn't have any side effects which was great. It did affect my overall sexual desire, but the best thing about it is when I stop for 2-3 days it comes back hard, pun intended. lol. In other words, the only side effect I experienced with revivogen was lower libido, but not too greatly, I would be aroused if I was watching p**rn, just not as crazily horny as I usually tend to be.

I'd recommend that you give it a try, it gave me a very good boost as in overall regimen, made the quality of my hair better, in terms of regrowth, I can't attribute it all to revivogen as I was using minoxidil when I started with it.

I noticed something though, the new revivogen formula is shyt compared to the one before. The best formula was the orange-brownish formula which really was great, the other colorless one didn't give me a boost at all. It is a bit oily, so make sure you apply it one hour before going to bed so you wouldn't spoil your bed-sheets. The smell is something people complain about all the time, but honestly it doesn't smell bad, in my opinion at least.
