 Yeah, last Wednesday the 13th, I had to get surgery done. I had a pilonidal cyst  . Ever had one? Ever heard of it before? Well its a cyst that you get on your tailbone, about maybe an inch or two above your a**h**, yes basically what they call the cleft area. Painfull it is. It's mainly a "genetic" factor and is actually quite common. Nothing cancerous or deadly thank god. It mainly happens in men more so than women, probably due to the fact that us men are hairier. You could probably due a search for it on the internet and find out more about it than I could tell ya here. Pilonidal stands for "nest of hair". Thats basically all it is is a f*****g ingrown hair that goes really fuckin bad.
I went in today for a check up so my Doctor could see how it is doing. Well looks good, but wanted to leave the stitches in a bit longer, so I'll have to go back the 2nd of August and maybe he'll take them out, hopefully. He did remove my Closed Wound Suction Evacuator, which is a device that collects excess fluid that may be draining out of the wound. The hose part of it went through into my left *** cheek under my flesh to the wound. And he pulled it out today, since it wasn't draining. I thought it was gonna hurt like hell when he did that but it didn't.
I really hope neither of you ever have to go through this sh*t. I am on disability right now. It kinda sucks, but atleast I don't have to work. I have been posting quite a bit on this site for the last few days because of ample time I have. LOL!!
I wonder if male pattern baldness may have something to do with this........LOL!!!!! Well.....if that ever became true then I feel sorry for all of ya!!

I can see right through your post. This is an obvious attempt at getting Tynan to jump out of the shadows and post a reply.

How could he resist such a perfect opening for a sarcastic comment?

Tynan... DO IT NOW!

LOL!! Yeah, actually, it would be a good way to get him to come out of the shadows. But, it did actually happen. I am not joking. You ought to do a search it and see some pics. I might be kind enough to post a link to the surgical procedure............GORE!!!

Here is a link to some pics : http://www.pilonidal.org/knowledge_base/pictures2.htm
and if you think that is bad then go down to the bottom of that page and click on next and shows you grosser pics. Then on that page, which is page 3, there are 3 links at the top that take you even further. Hope you don't plan on eating real soon. LOL!! :)

You think that is gross huh? Well, before when I had it, when it got worse, it was draining fuckin pus :x . And OMG.....the pus smelled fuckin horrid. Terrible odor. You see..........these damn cysts develop drainage sinuses(holes basically) and pus will drain from it. But to let you all know, if you ever develop one................get the f*****g thing removed ASAP. If you wait too long, it'll become very painful, and waiting will just allow the cyst to grow even larger......meaning the bigger and deeper the wound will be. :)

LOL!! Well, I do have to say I was one of the "fortunate" ones. My cyst was pretty small, so all he had to do was cut me open and take it out and stitch me up. If it is huge like the ones you see in the pics.................those wounds have to heal from the inside out......meaning months upon months of healing. Those are the ones that have to be packed with gauze..........fresh gauze has to be put in daily, until it is healed. I feel sorry for the one having to help them change the gauze. And yes............pilonidal cysts have to be removed. People might get medication like antibiotics to fight the infection, but it will not cure it, unfortunately. If someone tells you that they don't have to be removed, just lanced or popped,............they don't know what the f*** they are talking about. They have to be removed, no if's and's or but's!!! And one more thing...........there is a small chance ( very small) that they might come back.....even if they are removed. I sure as f*** hope not. :)

blame it on propecia. in the clinical trials 49.95473857 % of the patients ended up with huge cysts on the genitals and butt, but merck covered it up when listening possible sides.

no really..thanks for the description, i couldnt sleep at night.

yah i know some one who had one of these things, and yes they're pretty bad from what i gathered.

sux you have to suffer that aswell, but if they got rid of it it shouldnt come back..just be careful as i'm sure you know.

vitamin E oil = good.

Yea, this thing is quite common. Some of my friends have got it, and one of them got a bad procedure done, so he had to stay lying downside for four months, without even being capable of sitting properly.

It´s curious, as I have been noticing some pain in that area the last weeks, especially when I sit on a hard surface. I noticed some kind of wrinkle in the cyst area. A hard one. I don´t want to go through the pain in the *** during summer. I hope it´s just a regular wrinkle, but in that zone, and not a cyst.

Oh believe me, I'll be careful. Yes, there is a very small chance that it could return, but I talked to some people that did have one and got it removed and they have not had any problems since. I hope it stays that way. :)

Man, that must really suck for your friend. His wound was probably the type that had to be packed with gauze. Those wounds have to heal from the inside out. His cyst must have been pretty big. :freaked:

A wrinkle.....you mean like a crease? Uh oh..........you might have one..........just in its very early stages. Mine started out kinda like a crease, then it formed a drain hole(sinus passage) and was like that for about a year and a half. It didn't really hurt that bad then. It did drain a little bit of pus........not much. Looked like watered down blood and had an odor to it. Then ....this year, sometime in June, like the 22nd......it f*****g got infected really bad and swelled up. So then I had to schedule surgery and they were not able to get me in for surgery till the 13th of July. Yeah......that much of a wait. But they did put me on Cipro(antibiotic) and that helped fight the infection till the surgery.
So if I were you, I would go to a Doctor and tell him/her what your problem is and they will take a look and determine if it is a pilonidal cyst. Tell them that you are aware of what these are and that you might have one yourself. If it turns out that you do have one.........have surgery scheduled. Seriously.....cause that is the only way to get rid of them. If they try to tell you that an antibiotic will "cure" it.......they are full of sh*t. Antibiotics will do nothing more than fight the infection and help keep it from getting worse. It sounds like you are in the very early stages of having one so yours will be easy to take out.....it'll be very small, probably no bigger than a kidney bean. That is if you even have one. This isn't to scare ya, but to make you aware and help you.
If you go to the doctor and have them look at it..........tell me what they said, I am curious to what they have to tell you. :)

I went to the Doctor w/ a sore ***.

Doctor: "Does your face hurt too?"

Me: "No. Why?"

Doctor: "Because it's killing ME."
