So, I clipped my hair down with no guard last week, I've been keeping at 1 or 2 over the last few months so it wasn't a big deal in my mind. Well, this week at work I get called "Dr Evil", and I star noticing a couple of my co-workers pulling the old pinky to the lip jester when running into me. I honestly didn't get offended by it and as a matter of fact I did the routine for my wife when I got home from work (we got a good chuckle).
So today i was thinking about it and wondered to myself, what if I wasn't ok with it?
I hope that the folks ribbing me did it because they know I could handle it, but what a shitty thing to do either way.
Anyway, I take it for what it is. I like myself enough to not worry about it, but is it wrong for me to secretly hope that karma kicks in at the end :woot: :agree:

I would like to hear how some of you feel about the subject, or better yet, what kind of crap has been said to you in the past and how have you dealt with it?

I dont get why people even do that, i have yet to be ribbed by anyone when i shaved. I can only remember one time when i had a mean picture taken and a friend just said 'nice mug shot' but that wasnt even a big deal.

I was nicknamed shaggy from scobey do in high school and still havent gotten over it. They would come over to my house with girls and harrass me about the way I looked. They were freshman too and I was a senior.

Karma doesnt exist, you just have an odd forehead which goes bad with bald. Could you imagine if richard dean anderson or james vander beak went bald? It would be hideous.

My closest friends call me ****head, but we make fun of each other all the time with much cruder language, so I don't care.

However, a very good looking lady once called me George Castanza....Oh boy did that hurt.

In my experience most people keep their comments to themseleves (which they should). But you can see it in there eyes what they are thinking and its usually something along the lines of "eww he's balding." Ive had people say to me "Whats up with your hair??" Im not sure what they ment by that. BUT they knew someone was up with it, ie: most likely the way i had styled it to conceal my thinning or shitty hairline. However if someone began to openly make comments or fun about my hair, id prob smack them in the mouth because its just plain RUDE! its like making fun of someone in a wheel chair in my opinion. Hairloss is a disability, its out of our control. So id prob smack them in the mouth with a good straight left and say hows that feel b**ch :)

Really? i don't see how dealing with hairloss is the same as someone who is physically disabled?
Sure it's annoying, hard to deal with, and frustrating, but I thank god for what I have when I see someone who truly has to get through life with a disadvantage. That of course is my opinion, and maybe folks will disagree with me..

I dont get any rude comments. What I cant stand is when people talk to me and rather than look in my eyes, theyre looking at my hot damned hair/hairline etc. I hate that sh*t. I think next theyll be touching it or poking at it at this rate.

Yeah, when I first started thinning, i remember getting that look from people I have known a long time (or knew me to have full hair).
I get it now and then when I grow my hair longer. I've always read it as "what the heck is he thinking", or "who is he kidding".

Now I ask them straight out, "why are you looking at my hair?". The reaction is usually some fumbled rambling excuse, lol.
I like turning the tables as it points out how rude it is.

I was only called Baldie in high school and some comments from friends and co-workers like "Are you going bald?"

I feel like answering "Geez, how did you come up with that Captain Obvious?"

A professor of course thought I was 30 and I asked why because "no hair in front". There was someone who was NW5 and he didn't diss him of course. My respect for that professor went way down after that. (He's thinning all around himself too I noticed that)

Why did your respect for him go down? Its possible that the way you had your hair made you look older, you ASKED him why he felt that way and he told you.
