Hey guys,

First thank you all to participate in this forum. Even if some of you are scary with their nightmare stories !

I am 27. I have been a Norwood 2 since I am 18 years old - there is a really small difference in my temples between now and 9 years ago. I noticed about a year ago that I had miniaturization on one temple. It was really slow so I did not take action. About 6 months ago it got a little bit worst so I started to apply Minoxidil on my temples. I had a little bit of shedding at first but it grew back. I also noticed that my hair in general was thinner but it wasn't that bad and I attributed that to the fact that I am getting older and that I did not have good nutrition and sports. I worked a lot was under a lot of stress for my job.

Since September I am working a lot, am under a lot of stress and anxiety from work. I restarted to do some small panic attacks. I am not doing sports and have little sleep. My nutrition is way better since January 1st (new year resolution lol). I have noticed that my hair is thinning on top of my head. Like a lot in a short time span. I could not see my scalp before but since mid-january I can see it as soon as my hair is not combed properly.

What do you guys think ? Is this diffuse thinning ? MBP ? Or, if I am lucky, could it be bad nutrition and anxiety ?

I have an appointment next Tuesday with a dermatologist. I am just curious to know what you guys think. I will keep you updated.

Thanks !
D.

First of all that’s a NW1. Second, only a dermatologist who examines your scalp can tell if it’s male pattern baldness, stress or something else that causes hair loss. Good luck.

NW1 and excellent hairline. Don't worry . take daily walk ,it reduces stress. Massage scalp by pinching and kneading. Otherwise you are OK. Don't stress out .

I disagree, definitely nw2... can’t tell if that is crown thinning or just your natural density. Keep a close eye on it

At first glance I would say early diffuse thinning. Your hair is pretty much exactly like how mine is right now. Overall I think you are in good shape for 27 years old.

What is your family history of hairloss? Do shed a lot of hairs in shower etc?

No baldness before 60 on my father's side. But my other grand father was bald at 30.

Here are some other pics. I could not see my scalp two months ago. I have been monitoring my hair for a year now.

Thanks !

I don't see any hair falling that is weird as I can swear my density droped a lot...

it looks like your are receding and diffusing to me.

Who knows you might keep this existing hair until your 60s but if you want to stop worrying forever then ask your derm for Finasteride.

Minoxidil just wont cut it by itself.

Hey guys,

I saw a private dermatologist today. I am a diffuse thinner. It it light for the moment. A little bit of receding on my right temple. He could prescribe me with Finasteride but his advice was to just go with Rogaine for a year and if it gets worse to add Finasteride. I agreed with him. He talked about PRP injection but this is really expensive ! Out of my budget...
