I cant blame society because its just an ingrained preference. Then Anyone I am not attracted to can say society made me not like brunettes (but I do like brunettes), or fatties (don't like fatties), or trannies (still in question), or poodles with skirts (no comment, jagermeister) but its just my preferences and opinions that made it so.

Im sorry but if society as a WHOLE decided to treat hairloss as something attractive I would not like it anymore and still be as distraught because "I" don't like my head bald. Honestly I think you would probably feel the same if you put it in perspective.
I never blame a woman for not liking me because of my hair, i will never condemn their preference because there are plenty of girls I dont like due to issues. Im not rude to them about it but it is so. It sucks but you cant be mad at them, you can be mad at YOU and your situation but not them.

@ Swingline, so you think that women's preferences against bald guys is in no way influenced by our society? You think you're preferences aren't influenced by society? Or do you think you're so much of an individual that every thought you've had has been completely from your own mind? Impossible. Do you think that women's preferences against bald men are as innocent as someone choosing brown eyes over blue or is there a negative connotation for baldness that deters many women from even considering them? There is preference and there is prejudice. In this case I definately think the latter is the case and not the former.

Swingline, I totally know what you are going tho. I have been shaving my head since I was 22. I started losing my hair at 21. Now I am a very good looking guy and stay in shape. I'm 37 years old now and look 30 or younger in the face. I have no problem getting women but I notice younger women do not give me the attention I should be getting because I don't have hair. My bald head does make me look older and I am getting a system within the month. People are superficial that is life. Physical looks is the one thing that gets a girl to talk to you. Once she gets to know you and likes you the looks part is less important but you have to get her attention first! Don't worry bro with the systems that are avaiable today you will be stealing your brothers girlfrieds before to lo0ng!

My opinions are mine. I would not like being bald nor think I was good looking even if it was appreciated.
By saying society has a disposition against hair loss and that's what makes it hard for us is wrong because YOU feel the same way and society did not put that on you is just or natural instinct for youth beauty and competition.

Stop blaming society for things. If we did this and accepted if then Black's and whites would still have separate water fountains....... Ah the good ol days ( I'm sorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry, it was to hard to resist) and the minority of people would not have affected change. It's true there are plenty of Good looking and successful balls people who get past it, the only problem is we as a collective on this forum choose not to. I can accept this and choose to be determined to fix it instead

ON OTHER TIMES, i think what if tomorrow every1 started seeing balding as cool, i would still not want it and i would still want a full head of hair. My desire for perfection drives this.

IS my desire of perfection an individual attribute or me conforming to societal attitudes
and i feel where does this thought process end - Do i think as an individual or am i subconsciously being a conformist.

I would say it's a bit of both, social attitudes and your own natural aversion. But then that's hardly surprising since social attitudes are ultimately the collective gut feelings of other people just like you and me. It's just that we are on the wrong side of the fence.

It is always possible to bind together a considerable number of people in love, so long as there are other people left over to receive the manifestations of their frustration and aggression. Freud said that, apparently. So perhaps it is a bit of both in that as humans we all have the inborn potential - to a greater or lesser extent - to hate, but it just needs the right kind of trigger or circumstances. They a person's true character is the decision he/she makes under pressure. Furthermore, if hatred really is taught then it must also be possible that our aversion to going or being bald could also be taught, no?
