almost 20 months on treatment. I was a NW3v.

Do I now appear to have a full head of hair?

Jesus are you sure you were NW3? What kind of treatment's??! Are the new boobs as impressive as the new hair?

Disclaimer: I was hypothyroid. But I also have male pattern baldness

But I've been using 5% min, 2% keto and LLLT for 20 months

I had to dig up one of your old threads to see your baseline and it looks like a great improvement, you must be pumped.

I was just curios about your Hypo, did you get on any meds for it? My male pattern baldness went into hyperdrive this winter and I got bloodwork done before getting on finasteride. I was right around 7 for TSH so my doctor gave me some meds for that as well a script for finasteride. So I've been on both for two weeks now and am wondering if getting on two different meds that alter your hormones at the same time was a good idea. I just kind of was in panic mode I guess. I know you have avoided finasteride, but I was more curious about how you treated your Hypo. Anyway, congrats on your maintained gains.

Thank you for taking the time to read my threads.

My TSH was 7 too and my hair loss also went into overdrive. I use T4 and T3 to treat my hypothyroidism. It takes 6-9 months of being back to normal with your thyroid for the hair to come back (that is, the hair that fell out due to thyroid disease).

Finasteride targets an enzyme that converts Testostorone to DHT.

Your thyroid medicine is likely levothyroxine or some form of T4.

These medicines are completely independent of each other and you shouldn't have to worry about them hurting you. Finasteride has side effects, but your thyroid replacement hormone medicine should make you feel better and bring your TSH down.

My TSH is 2.4

Thanks for the info Pavi. I just checked the bottle and yes I was prescribed levothyroxine. I was probably kind of close to your baseline when my hair loss accelerated. I'm not really sure as I have had the same receded temples since 25(I'm 35 now). My crown was thinning very slowly and then all of sudden it just took off with general thinning everywhere. My maternal grandfather is NW6 and it seems I might be headed there. My father is 64 with a legit full head. I always thought my temples receding but maintaining an otherwise full head of hair was my fathers genetics battling my mother's. It appears as if my mother's are winning.

All that said, my blood work did reveal iron and vitamin D levels below the normal range so that combined with the thyroid may have sped up the process. So I'm treating those things and am on the big 3 so I guess I'm doing all I can. Your story had inspired me a bit, so thank you.

I'm glad! My vitamin D levels were also deficient. I dont know If that's an androgenetic alopecia cause or a hypothyroid cause

You're not even on finasteride or dutasteride? I'd like to see your baseline pics, but if you really went fro NW3-NW0 then you didn't have male pattern baldness and it must've been related to your thyroid.

They're in my thread. I'm not a nw0. My hairline isn't pulled back in these pics. I just wanted to see if I had the illusion of a NW0

Could you post your before pictures as well? Your hair looks great btw. The hairline pic is a little fuzzy, so it is hard to judge the hairline, but your overall density and crown/vertex area look thick as hell.

Think the thyroid medications saved your hair?

I think it's a combo of thyroid medicine and my minoxidil/keto/LLLT. Looking at my before pics you can see I do have male pattern baldness
