its doing better then when i was only on the big 3. got some improvement and i see alot of new white hairs on my temples and thinning areas.
so il see how it works with the dutasteride combo after 12 months.
hopefully it will get me much more back.
only on the dutasteride for 5 months now.. been on finasteride for 2 years.

Four of the faithful are either temporarily misplaced, MIA, or sadly departed from this hallowed land.

The roll call, with estimated dutasteride usage in brackets:

oni - on safari? (5+ years)
Iamnaked - on the run in Argentina (approx. 4 years)
Aplunk - M.I.A. (3 to 4 years, with occasional breaks)
Jayman - R.I.P. (multi-year veteran, records sadly lost)

I try to come back in and talk a litle when i got nothing to do.

Ah, yes, whatever happened to Jayman? Some say he sailed south for the winter and just kept going, others that he strolled into the Subway on a balmy August evening and couldn't find his way back out. I doubt we'll ever know.

Kinda wish I hadn't jumped on the bandwagon, but I'll stick it out for at least one year.

Still on it-have been since August 2006, so I've been on it for right around 2 and a half years. No change in my hair since I got banned from here last January or whenever it was. No more improvement, but no worsening either. I don't take pictures anymore but I can tell by using a tape measure three or four times a year that my hairline hasn't moved up at all. Can also tell by raising my eyebrows all the way and comparing hairline location to highest crease to tell that it has barely moved up from my juvenile hairline and is probably just 2/3rds of the way to being a mature hairline. I think dutasteride can stop hairline maturation as well but we'll see if it stays this way till I'm 30.

Side effects:

Not really any I don't think. Sometimes it takes me 10 seconds or so to start peeing but I can't really attribute this to Avodart I don't think. My dad was headed rapidly toward NW3 at my age so I definitely think that I'd be headed toward being bald if I wasn't on it.

Once I hit the dutasteride 4 year mark approximately I'm going to get a hair transplant and return my hairline to a juvenile location with about 3000 grafts of the 8000 or so I have available. Probably with Dr. Rahal or someone else super-reputable. I'm thinking I will do it right after Christmas in 2010.

JayMan lives! I will modify the records accordingly.

Things sound good-to-okayish hair wise - maintenance is Avodart's forte. Clearly your slightly elevated hairline bothers you; I don't think I could be arsed to have a transplant unless (until?) my front thins out beyond the point where cunning styling conceals the loss to all but the most prying eyes.

And still I'd have to hit it with one last barrage of treatments before any scalpel action.

I is still on Dutas.

I is considering switching to Finasteride.

More people should take Avodart so I can feel like less of a lab rat.

Aussie: thinking of adding anything to counter this?

I'm in a similar situation and currently contemplating either a stronger version of minoxidil or some of that Prox-N stuff.
