Thanks - fortunately I haven’t had any sides, so I’ll continue using it along with minoxidil and the dermapen. I’m just concerned about my temples. The hairs seem much thinner than the others along my hairline.I think it looks good. In your case, finasteride should be quite effective.
Do you mean miniaturization? I thought maturation was complete by your late 20s?There might be some maturation going on, but I certainly wouldn't throw the kitchen sink at it with dutasteride. It can make your hair worse. If you are a perfectionist, you can just get a transplant and be set for life.
I meant maturation. It’s like you’ve very slowly gone from NW1 to NW2. You do not have aggressive hair loss and never will.Do you mean miniaturization? I thought maturation was complete by your late 20s?
At what point do I pursue a hair transplant?
It seems like a lot of people have success with it. I'm just trying to keep my options open before going the hair transplant route.I meant maturation. It’s like you’ve very slowly gone from NW1 to NW2. You do not have aggressive hair loss and never will.
You’re probably at the age where you can get a transplant. Personally I think your hair looks good though. But it’s an option if you want a perfect NW1 hairline. But no way in hell would I go on dutasteride unless you had literally no other choice and were balding aggressively. I see too many cases where hair gets worse on dutasteride, particularly in individuals with mild hair loss. It even happened to me, never again
Unless you have been a hyper responder in the past with topical min (which would mean you possess high levels of an enzyme in your scalp) then adding topical will be no better than oral. With needling, it's just going to go more systemic anyways. 2.5mg is already a large enough dose IMO. Higher doses won't improve hair enough to be worth the increased side effects. It seems like a lot of people have success with it. Also got a haircut - still concerned about the temples. I'm going to start back the dermapen and nizoral. Would using topical minoxidil in addition to the oral route make a difference?

You could try dutasteride, some people do respond well, but others respond adversely, so it's a risk. I really wouldn't want to be on that drug for the rest of my life. But you can take that gamble if you so choose.
