10% regrowth PLUS MAINTAINING what you have.
not everyone here is NW7 you know.
Plus NW3~6 can have a hair transplant without worries.

No Pharma is going to go ahead with a drug that can only deliver a 10% improvement. 10% doesn't move the needle enough when you can get the same result from OTC minoxidil or $.50/pill finasteride. To warrant the massive investment in bringing a drug to market, it will have to substantially outperform what's currently available.
bullshit, no one will refuse to use a safer finasteride.Only on the boards; in real life, it's simply not the primary reason people don't seek treatment.

people will stop finasteride as soon as a safer alternative comes.
Of course they won't refuse to use a safer finasteride, its just that safety isn't the reason they aren't using it, so a safer finasteride won't significantly improve the bottom line.
The market wants a more effective finasteride, not a safer finasteride.
There are already some pretty effective maintenance products on the market...
Minoxidil and ketoconazole are effective when used as adjuncts to finasteride/dutasteride.
bullshit, no one will refuse to use a safer finasteride.
IIRC, they are doing another phase II first. What is going on with this? They deciding whether or not to go to phase III?
The truth is not many people know about finasteride/propecia in the first place. Why? Because the results of finasteride aren't compelling enough to get the attention of the masses. Yes Propecia sells 100s of millions of dollars in the US a year, but if it was actually known to regrow hair it would have sold in the billions of dollars in the US. I understand that some of the people who use/used it and experienced side effects would like a side effect-free product, but let's face it, the buyers of this drug and anti-finasteride consumers of this drug are all the same market, separate from those who do not even care about Propecia/Rogaine. A comparable drug to finasteride with no negative side effects will not attract people who didn't care for propecia before. It would have to be a drug that actually regrows massive amounts of hair. Those NW3-7's who have never used finasteride and don't even know about its side effects are NOT looking for finasteride-like results, side effects or not. They are looking for something that will blow up in the news and social media, that is guaranteed to turn their NW5, 6 or 7 dying little hair follicles into prime Brad Pitt hairline, or Denzel Washington hairline.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be a welcoming drug to you and others who want to use finasteride but suffer from side effects. I'm saying that Occulus is probably right, it's something that is "only on the boards". In reality, people actually want their hair back and that's the type of news they want to hear.
minoxidil doesn't stop hairloss like finasteride.
if doctors knew about a safer finasteride, THEY WILL recommend it to the masses who are starting to lose their hair, i think a lot of doctors know that finasteride is not a safe drug this is why they sometimes don't even tell the patients to use it.
I have maintained on minoxidil alone for 19 months and counting
