Seeking advice - what to do?

Hey guys,

Since a kid I have always had a high forehead with some receding temples, but didn't truly notice my receding hairline when I was 16-17. I tried the Australian equivalent for Rogaine at the time when I was 19 in 2008 on my receding hairline, but it inflamed my psoriasis to unbearable and visible levels so I abruptly ceased.

I drink a fair amount of water and exercise which I have read can help, though this does fluctuate depending on my mood and stress levels.

In regards to my psoriasis and dandruff:

1, Are there Rogaine tablets rather than cream/liquid form?
2. Would Nizoral Shampoo be helpful for this inflammation of psoriasis? My brief investigation leads me to believe it can potentially worsen it. While I would love to retain my hair, I don't want to do so at the expense of a very sensitive scalp.
3. What about Propecia alone? Could this have adverse affects on my dandruff and psoriasis?

I am also concerned about the other side affects - depression, anxiety, a lowered libido for both Rogaine and Propecia. As someone who suffers from mild to moderate depression and anxiety, I don't want the chance of exasperating these systems. Are these rare?

I have some photos from 2010 to 2013 to compare. As well as that, some photos of me in late 2012 when I decided to shave my head.

Now, compared to 2013 to 2010, I find the centre to be a tad more narrow than it was? That could be of course due to the fact my hair is shorter since I shaved it in late 2012. Or is the narrowing of the centre and the widening of the receding hairline a natural rpocess?

It needs to be noted that my father is bald, his brother, and their father was bald (my grandfather). More than that, my mother's brother was bald, but not my mother's father.

Looking forward to some advice!

Because of the family history of balding, i would suggest starting Propecia urgently. I don't think it should affect your psoriazis.
If you want to "solve" the temples region, you should consider hair transplant with a top doctor. I think you'd be a good candidate for excellent results.

Have you tried Rogaine Foam? You may have an intolerance to PPG but not to Minoxidil. Finasteride / Dutasteride are your top choices. Don't expect too much regrowth from those alone. Holding ground is success.

My apologies for the belated reply.

Thanks for that. Do you have any information or opinion on the potential side affects - most noticeably sexual side affects of Propecia?

How much would a hair transplant cost? That sounds quite expensive, haha.

I have not. When I tried it in 2008, I had the liquid version. I had the Is that any cheaper? What is PPG?

Is generic Finasteride just as effective? Is it cheaper? And what is Dutasteride?

Wait, I thought Propecia was used to prevent further loss, while Finasteride/Rogaine was used to potentially regrow the hair?

Confusion ensues!

I have been refreshing my interest and research in this, so need to bump the thread.

Any further advice? Particularly to the purported anecdotes of Propecia's sexual and depressive side effects?
