Should I Add S5 Cream To My Regimen?

I have been seeing this S5 cream stuff advertised on the forums. Anyone that knows what it is, do you think it would be beneficial to use it if I am taking finasteride already, if the finasteride is not stopping my hair loss? I used to take minoxidil (2.5yrs) as well but quit last month, because I am not responding.

Interesting. However if you're using finasteride and using Nizoral the % of success regrowth with minoxidil goes up exponentially. Photos of your hair at all? Did you only use one type of minoxidil or chop and change?

Also the 30% is for regrowth, not maintenance which was over 70%.

I've read the stuff doesn't work at all for 70% of people because they don't have sufficient quantities of the minoxidil enzyme sulfotransferase. I have switched up my minoxidil several times because of adverse reactions with some of them (caused irritation). I have used kirkland minoxidil foam, rogaine foam and liquid, and lipogaine (liquid). None of them worked. I was on generic finasteride the entire time as well. And I highly doubt the minoxidil was keeping any hair because the areas I was especially applying it (which is the areas I was losing my hair the worst), the hair has fallen out and not grown back after 2 years.

If your not a responder drop the minoxidil but its possible you were maintaining and thell be a big shed in a month, spironolactone cream works for some but if ur willing you can try dutasteride.

Because finasteride still leaves 30% of your DHT alone. Dutasteride removes 90% of it. Dutasteride also removes alpha 5 reductase 1 by 80% which has nothing to do with hairloss or DHT production, and is found in brain tissue. Well done.

If you are on finasteride 1mg and don't think it is enough, use a better minoxidil like Lipogaine or a 10% formula with topical finasteride, Use Nizoral 2%, a DHT blocking sulfate free shampoo, take a vitamin supplement like HR23+, and use a laser helmet with over 60 diodes.

If you're using all of that and still losing ground, then you're probably not using them properly.

I use topical spironolactone/estrodial but its in a spray. I don't buy it from here my Dr gives it to me. It's for women.

I used it for about 5 weeks before adding minoxidil.

before adding minoxodi i did have a slow down in my shedding and my hair was better rooted.

Since using minosocil i am on it for 10 weeks my hair that was prematurely shedding (short hairs with white bulbs) is rooted and growing.

So i think topical spironolactone is working---how well? i cant tell that since once i started minoxidil 5 weeks in i was regrowing.

Keep in mind I am a woman and my hair loss by most standards is not aggressive.

Also it has estrodial in it so i don't know how much of each is helping.

I dont think its 'snake oil' it may just be much weaker than other options so if you have aggressive male pattern baldness its not going to help on its own.

Almost everything you listed is useless for hair loss. Nizoral is complete sh*t as well (even though some people live by it, I think it is just the placebo effect). I honestly believe the only 2 effective treatments are finasteride (dutasteride) and minoxidil. I am on 2mg finasteride daily (doctor upped my dosage recently from 1mg) and was using minoxidil 5% 2x daily for 2 years and continued to lose hair, so wouldn't say I am not using them properly. Minoxidil is proven to not work for everyone, and literally do nothing for many people. Also finasteride isn't necessarily strong enough for everyone. I remember reading somewhere that it only reduces scalp DHT levels like 50%, which is not necessarily going to stop your hair loss (may slow it down though) if the follicles are extremely sensitive to DHT. Also I don't believe DHT is the only cause of male pattern baldness, I believe there are other factors involved, so blocking DHT won't necessarily stop hair loss.

2mg blocks about 2% more DHT than 1mg. Looks like you're into a bit of the old placebo effect too (or maybe just enjoy wasting money). Look it up. And yes, ketoconazole is an anti-androgen and is proven in studies to be a more effective treatment than finasteride alone, so cut the idiotic trash talk. If you can get a 10-15% improvement from Nizoral 2%, another 10% from lazer, another 10% from vitamins, and another 10% from topical DHT blockers (like in lipogaine) then it's worthwhile.

Dutasteride is suicide. If all else fails, then get transplants.

Who can honestly say that they used topical DHT blockers like Trichogen, lipogaine or topical finasteride, LLLT with over 100 diodes, 1mg finasteride, 5% minoxidil, vitamins, 2% keto shampoo, caffeine and DHT blocking shampoo and have not had positive results?
