For me, the results were disappointing , but now I see that there is hope . I thought samumed had to think that the results are magnificent , which is why they decided to make them public at the Congress last March 5 . I guess they will be surprised by the deception in the forums of alopecia. If samumed investigations had been a failure , they had not attended the congress , simply they had discussed their investor and had closed the project.
I pass the data of the person who released the data last March 5th . please , someone to write to him and ask something else. We need something.

Nobody has contacted Samumed to ask for more information ? I do not speak English, use a translator . Does anyone speak English contact samumed and tell you the disappointment that have led to their results and if they have something to add can ?

It's funny, how they portray the baldness in the article with a masculine, good looking bald dude with a jaw massive as a rock. Yeah, cause that's how a typical bald guy looks.

This is what the average bald guys looks like:

But its nice to see bald guys portrayed as a beta loser. Bald guys are just men - no more, no less

Sometime in April.

So then the takeaway is that if we see good results here there will be another year for phase 3 and then potentially another year to get to market...so there could be a possibility of this getting released towards the latter end of 2018 providing they move as rapidly as they have been doing up until now...

Have they explicitly estimated 5 years or is this your personal projection, if so how do you see it being 5 years?

Everything is always just 5 years away.

I'm not saying SM04554 will follow this timeline, but here is an example for a topical ointment entering phase III pivotal studies in early 2015 and rounding completion by end of the year, including a long-term safety study at 12 months. Anacor submitted an NDA in January.

Samumed has also posted results from their Phase I trial (https://www.samumed.com/files/2016/AAD2016_AGAPh1_Poster3299_20160131_Final.pdf), and included self-assessed positive response rate.

At day 15 of treatment, 38% of subjects with the 0.15% dose said they noticed effectiveness; but at the one month mark, this increased to 75%. Considering that average hair count in the Phase II trial continued to rise after treatment was stopped, there's a good chance that the 75% response rate would also be higher after, say, 12 months.

I like those numbers, a treatment that works on the majority of people is great news. Lets hope they get to phase 3 and that 10% increase rises in a linear fashion over time.

Honestly the biggest advancement anyone could come up for male pattern baldness would be cutting down the time and cost getting something to market. A cure tomorrow is 10 years away I mean doesnt that seem a bit excessive? Not to mention the insane costs, but I guess that will probably never change if politicians are in charge of that

Perhaps avodart in concert with SM04554 will become a more effective combination than finasteride and minoxidil.

SM04554 @ 0.25%

Haircount -
Baseline - 110.8
Day 135 - 118.5

Hair Density -
Baseline - 6055
Day 135 - 6337

Not bad at all. Who knows what happens at 6 months, one year. Maybe they keeps growing long as SM is still applied.
