Hey guys. I just got spironolactone 5% cream and i was wondering if there is a specific way I should be applying it if i have diffuse thinning all over the scalp? I want to use as little as possible.

Thank you.

Don't even consider oral spironolactone, sides can be worse than finasteride, stick to topical only, it does work.

mogadon,

are you really taking 600mg oral spironolactone?

10mg finasteride, 4mg dutasteride, and 600mg spironolactone?!?! I highly doubt this person is taking these high dosages of all these meds. He would be a walking science experiment.

Definitely i'll take oral spironolactone with finasteride. It's powerful. I wonder why people dont take it. We see a lot of bald man that are unware of this medication.

It's like why people dont use corn based fuel in their cars and still use conventional fuel.

I'll give you an answer to both.

1.) I don't want to get gynocomastia from spironolactone.

2.) No corn based fuel gas stations.

Behmesh, for a diffuse thinner, I would suggest trying the 2% spironolactone liquid in lieu of the 5% cream.

The 2% doesn't get clupmed up in your hair as much, you may find it easier to use.

It is my understanding that the effectiveness is the same.

Correct me if I am wrong, (Bryan or another knowledgeable contributor), but I believe that even though there is less % in the liquid, the liquid has a better vehicle substance (alcohol and PPG) and thus absorbs more readily.

Time to post my "spironolactone creams versus spironolactone solutions" excerpt again:

Good article but it has a flaw! What about oral spironolactone?

What about it? The article is comparing two different types of topical spironolactone...

Some guys battle for their hair in the naive attempt to satisfy others (girls and homossexuals) like most of the users of gourmetstylewellness.com.

I prefer to try save my hair to satisfy myself and look decent in the mirror. I dont give a sh*t to anyone. If i had to choose between a hot girl and my hair the hot girl would burn in hell if necessary. I would choose a girl if i deeply love her like very few of them.

Bryan,

Do you think that perhaps a five percent liquid could be effective, or is liquid spironolactone and utter waste of time not worthy of further experimentation?

From the study

"Well, there you have it! The cream version seemed
to perform better. In fact, the alcoholic version may
not have performed AT ALL! :-( What's interesting
is that they used a spironolactone concentration in both vehicles
of only 1%; and what's very strange is the fact that the
cream vehicle made the hirsutism WORSE. That's food
for thought."

Unless, I'm understanding it completely wrong isn't the above statement contradictory? First you said that cream version seemed to perform better and in the end cream vehicle made ithe hirsutism worse? so basically cream is worse then liquid?
