My left side hairline is oddly more receded and thinning than my right. I've been on finasteride. 1.25 mg everyday for just about a year now (with some skipping near may because of potential sides) and I don't think it's slowing down the situation fast enough. I am hesitant to continue using finasteride beyond a few more months and considering swapping to dutasteride asap.
But I also read about the sensitivity to scalp testosterone that dutasteride (and even finasteride) can cause. DHT is the main culprit but the rise in T could also be contributing.
How should this be approached? Can you even test if your scalp is particularly sensitive to T? I don't want to hop on Ru because of cost and inconvenience but if needed I will do it.
