Hi guys,
So first - I am not sure this is the right place, but since it is highly related to the recent (and ongoing) improvement and innovation in the hair loss industry - I think you guys will be able to relate to what I call : The big dilemma.
So, the big dilemma is probably something that is very common to many of the hair loss sufferers. This is pretty much the following problem:
First, a little background about myself:
I am turning 28 soon. I remember started losing my hair at the age of 20-21. today I am somewhere between NW5-NW6. Used minoxidil for 6 years, finasteride for 6 months. finasteride didn't help me (I am convinced it even had worsened my situation). minoxidil however, did help during the first years, then I decided to just drop it since I started to thin very much, which made the greasiness of the minoxidil very noticeable on my scalp. And due to the fact it didnt really help anymore.
So this is the big dilemma:
My hairline is very poor, Also receding at my temples. My crown is way worse than every other area (since it started to thin at the age of 20). I have less than average of donor hair, since I suffer the kind of the retrograde alopecia.I buzz my hair to minimum every 5-7 days. I walk with a buzzed hair for like 2 years now. I have consulted some of the best FUE hair transplant surgeons in the world, including names like: Rahal, H&W, Lorenzo, Bhatti. Some of them told me to just accept the situation, some of them told me that I am limited to a frontal + mid scalp solution only (told me I had about 5000 donor grafts for life time). Crown will probably never be able to recover with a hair transplant.
However, a frontal (hairline + temples + some of the mid scalp), will change my appearance dramatically. I will be able to buzz my hair but won't look bald.
The final question is:
I am 28. I wish to have at least some of my best years looking good, before I go too old . If Tsuji will be able to launch his cure by 2020, or 2022 (then I will be 32-34 yo), should I go for at least a frontal hair transplant that will hold on for few years?
1 year ago I would never go for a hair transplant like this, Knowing that I will probably continue balding without having enough donor hairs to cover the "new falling hairs", and then this hair transplant will be f*****g useless, and even worse than useless.
But "given" that in the next 4-5 years I might get my hair back, should I maybe do it?
I am sure this dilemma hit many of the balding members here... so it may be interesting to hear some of your opinions.
