The definition of "aggresive hair loss"

I did a forum search on aggressive hair loss. I can see a lot of people talking about it and I am curious if I fit the description of someone who has it. It mainly sounds as though aggressive hair loss is where you cross several Norwood stages within a few years but opinions vary.

There is a thin patch at the back of my head that went from barely noticeable at 21 to a gaping hole the size of my fist at 24. There must be at least one Norwood stage there.

Would that be aggressive? Practically normal? Or even steadier than usual? Bear in mind that although I have no yet fully begun a regime, I have done as much as possible to slow down the hair loss. I.E: generally just being careful with it and not ripping hair out for any reason, keeping it nourished and not coating it in chemicals. I have heard of people going completely bald within 4 years and I am sure I was supposed to be one of those people

So how fast must one lose hair in order for it to qualify as aggressive? Any consensus here?

First of all aggressive balding should start in you teens or early twenties. It should also progress further into the Norwood scale every year or at least every other year.

Aggressive male pattern baldness = NW1 at 20, NW6 at 25. (as a good midpoint). There are of course people who are NW1 at 16 and NW6 at 19.

Armadien, I'm not sure what you mean by cowlick but yea, its the crown zone.

I figure I'm at NW2.5 or less so maybe I'm being paranoid. I'm balding fast but not quite that fast.

The crown zone together with the front line are prone to common hair loss, normally these areas are the first to lose ....
