the restrictions hair loss places on your movements...

I was thinking about going backpacking and the issue that was on my mind the most was not where I should go, or what I should pack, or how much the travel would cost. No.

I was thinking about my hair.

How can I travel and also take finasteride and minoxidill. It would be awkward to apply minoxidill while in a busy shared hostel.
What happens if I lose my drugs while away? It would be hard to get new drugs in time.

The same issue applies to many lifestyles or career choices.

Good luck keeping up a hair routine in the army. In boot camp, which lasts for 3 months, all non essential drugs are banned. You'll also be exposed to disruptions to your hair routine, for example caused by deployment overseas or training exercises. Masculine environments don't take kindly to "metrosexuals" applying creams and lotions to their hair (and this will be the interpretation).

Even things like taking a cruise on the sea, any shared environment, any environment that has uncertainty attached to it. So much stress and problems maintaining a hair routine.

Going backpacking around the world, letting yourself go free and disconnecting from the worries of your old life, impossible. Hair loss follows you around like an anchor, mentally and in logistic terms, you need your drugs.

Hair loss doesn't just make bad memories it prevents new ones from happening.

I don't use minoxidil but I imagine that would be a pain to apply when travelling. finasteride is easy - just pop a pill.

I carry nanofibres wherever I go now so I can apply them if I think they have come off. Problem is you need two mirrors to see the crown area so I'm practicing at applying them 'blind' without mirrors. It's not really a big deal though, when you think that some women carry gallons of make-up around with them wherever they go and apply it all the time.

holidays can be a pain though especially when you're in the heat and sweat a lot, or get wet a lot in the sea/pool. Spare a thought for people with wigs/hairpieces though - must be hell for them

I think that there is an oral minoxidil. That could be an option maybe?

But yeah it sucks. And of course hairloss limits your career options, and overall forces you to make decisions on certain things such as the ones you bring up. When you are young, you feel inmortal, you feel you can do anything you want, you can do everything. But not when you start becoming old, and a premature hairloss is the first sign of aging. I don't even feel young anymore, now my mindset is more like "I want to LOOK young" :(

How hard could it be to keep hair very short and just spray some minoxidil. I assume you can have privacy at least in the bathroom, wtf?
You are simply exaggerating here, my friend!
It is very easy actually to "maintain the hair routine".
Army? In the army you buzz your head anyway, and , wtf, in developed country they no more have "military service" for ALL men . You get there only if you want to become a professional in army.
You tell me someone is ready to RISK HIS LIFE in army operations and his problem is hair thinning?
Going to a trip? Wtf, can't you wear a heat if you are that disturbed that unknown people would see your hair loss... Come on!

There are a lot of places where bathrooms are shared...

And about the army, some people like to follow that career, and still want to have a good appearance. Good hair + being in shape + being in the army = hot girls all the time.

It doesn't restrict my movement to bend over and take it in the *** by society if that is the kind of movement you are talking about. IDK.
