This pattern is called male pattern baldness

I would agree but the only thing is the last 3 months I have thinned like crazy. the sides of my head have thinned also. It was like loads of hair loss was being shed.

Is this normal?

Also Im not on any thyroid medication, so maybe I need my bloods done

Keep telling yourself that it's not male pattern baldness. You're going to be in for a rude awakening.

Man I came on here looking for opinions, Im not saying I have a perfect hairline but up until 3 months ago my hair was falling out in my hands. if this is normal for hairloss then ya your right but I seriously dont think male pattern baldness happens that you loose massive amounts of hair in 3 months

Get your blood work done to find out if its a thyroid problem. Top of your head says male pattern baldness, but you say your also thinning on the sides so go get tested rule out thyroid. If it comes back clear go see a dermatologist to confirm you have male pattern baldness then start treatment.

Yeah Im gonna do it first thing tomorrow. I feel like I need to fall asleep all the time. I have been an NW2 since I was 19 Im now 30 so its just the last few months the thinning and hair loss, Ive been stressed and thyroid is giving me problems.

Not saying it ain't male pattern baldness but my brother and father have both full heads of hair and really thick with no recession

O yeah sorry I forgot I just go on forums making up stories about clumps of hair falling out in my hands. Thats my usual day, wake up in the morning and thinking about posting on hairloss forums.

Right now, dozens of balding newbies are telling themselves full of hope that "Maybe it's that! Maybe I have a thyroid problem, oh please let it be that, I'm not thinning that much and my father is NW2 at 49!"

That kind of post is irresponsible.

I aint saying such things. if you read my post instead of just judging you would realize that clumps of my hair( which never happened before in life ) have been coming out since 3 months ago. Now if you know anything about thyroid it can cause hair thinning. I checked your hair post and I think it would be sad if someone give **** to you about posting and looking for advice. You don't know me so don't assume my problem is male pattern baldness or even what I think it could be

Clumps? Define clumps. Do you mean 5-6 hairs in one pull? You do know that the average person sheds 150 strands of hair EVERY DAY, right? And this is completely normal. Even balding guys shed this much without treatments. The difference is that when hairs return to anagen phase after catagen and telogen, the hairs grow with a smaller thickness thanks to DHT and byproducts of it choking the follicle and reducing the dermal papilla in size over time.

Lemme put it this way:

I've been on this forums for four years and not once has anyone came back to the forum and said 'it was just a thyroid issue'.... virtually every guy here is experiencing normal androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness) to some degree. Even IF you were to lose some of your hairline, its expected anyway at some stage in your life as basically NOBODY retains their highschool hairline, some recession is completely normal and expected.... but that doesnt mean you're going to turn into a full on NW6 baldie. Have you noticed how some guys develop an NW3 hairline by their mid 20s and stay that way until theyre 80 years old? Well, that was the case with my grandfather.

So what do you really want us to tell you? That you dont have male pattern baldness when in all honest, its 99% certain that you do? I would hope that the forum members here have better things to say than keep you in a delusional state of mind just to make you feel happy. If thats the case, I might as well tell you to waste your time by going to church and saying a useless prayer to save your hair.

Face it dude, rarely does anyone escape male pattern baldness. Perhaps if you swallow finasteride like tic-tacs and it works for you forever without side effects, then yah you might stand a chance.

I aint saying I dont have a certain amount of hairloss. Im 30 of course I do, but the rate in the last 3 months have been crazy, Everytime I would put my hand in my hair, hair would come out, loads of tiny white bulbs on the end. It was alot.

Man reason I said my thyroid is that I lost hair last year when I was having a bad bout of thyroid problems but it grew back, this time it's back again and now I've lost hair again. So basically was wondering if anyone had such problems as I'm not on thyroid medication. I tried natural last year and it worked but Im back to square one again

Anything is possible but statistically its overwhelmingly male pattern baldness like 95 percent of the time. Maybe it will stop on its own and its just "mature hairline" whatever that means
