What's the point of taking propecia at a young age (20's) to stop hairloss when it will probably hurt your sex life and more importantly kill your future sex life? After looking at propeciahelp.com Ive started to think it's not worth having hair if you can't have sex. And possibly permantly not able to have sex even after you stop taking it. What's the most finasteride could work for anyways? 10 years?

It's true, face the facts. I took Finasteride for about 4 months when I was 18, I suffered a serious decrease in ejaculate, soft erections, testicular pain/shrinkage and penile shrinkage, Depression and weight gain. I got off Finasteride and everything returned to normal, unfortunately I got back on Finasteride because of my aggressive male pattern baldness. That's when the trouble started, I won't begin to list the side effects, just think about what a completely imbalanced hormonal system will do to a young guy.

Anyways fact is, it is the only method of halting male pattern baldness/Androgenetic Alopecia and unfortunately for us young guys it seems to have extreme negative consequences. Everybody reacts differently and therefore I can't say it will be the same for everyone.
If I had another chance though I would use Finasteride but at a low dose, about (.25mg or lower). At the first sign of side effects I would get off it. It's a potent drug and needs to be monitored carefully.

To all those ignorant people that say the side effects are Placebo effects/Exaggerated/Non-existent, you need to realize that the actual level of men that suffer side effects is much higher than 2%. Especially in the younger generations. Dihydrotestosterone is a key factor in the growth process. For many people it is needed to maintain erections and retain normal sexual functions. Since it seems to have the "Brain fog" effect on some people, it could also have a function in the brain.

Don't get me wrong, Finasteride can be a miracle-drug for the men who are able to handle it. Just be weary that for some men it can really upset the natural balance and cause some temporary/permanent side effects.

Don't use propeciahelp.com to determine how likely side effects are. That's like going to an optometrist to sample how many people have poor vision. Omgz, it's like 100%!!!11!one.

Yeah, it reminds me of those "studies" that tell you how antidepressants cause suicidal behavior. Well gee consider what kind of sample of people you're looking at already LOL

i think most people get mild sexual sides when they start propecia. that 2% is a little misleading but likely refers to the people who get persistent sides. propecia increased my sex drive, erection strength, and ejaculate volume after a minor dip when i first started.

If your sex drive is low, that means you'll last longer in bed. You may not ever finish, but at least your chick will never accuse you of being a one-minute man.

What dosage of propecia are you taking?

From my observations....I think that you will most likely be fucked up if you take finasteride too early....I think it has the least side effects and is most effective when your body has basically stopped growing. I would say the ideal age to take finasteride is 26 and onwards. If you take it when you are only 18 or 19, the absence of the DHT is to detrimental.

I'm glad I never read propeciahelp before starting finasteride. If I had I would never have stopped shedding and would never have regrown my crown while having zero sides after the first few months.

Thank ya, Jesus.

Same here - regrown crown and had zero sides apart from a dip in libido for a week when starting. I'm in my 30's though ...
