I'm pretty sure there is only one ingredient a healthy person needs in their shampoo: soap.

That would depend on what the soap was made of. Typically most store bought soaps are junk.

Sure soap cleans, but again 'SOAP' is a term to mean an AGENT used for cleaning.

There is no such thing to say SOAP is SOAP and that's the ingredients SOAP.

SO it all boils down to what kind of product you use and what the ingredients of that soap are.

Here the wiki run down on soap, it looks pretty accurate:

well what i am saying is i really do not think there are any formulations of soap at your local drugstore that are in any way inadequate. i have never used any brand of soap that did not leave me clean.

Well, soap was originally derived from fatty acids and lye, which remains the base of all soap to this day. I can and have made my own soap from beef fat and lye. And of course, we've all seen fight club (using liposuction fat to produce high-end consumer soap).

All shampoo derives from virtually the same ingredients as well, as does body wash and dish washing liquid.

Damn, I shoulda stayed in chemical engineering :-(

I agree that most shampoos are a waste of money and you really don't need them. I only use simple Suave coconut conditioner on the days I don't use Nizoral. You heard right, I wash my hair with conditioner only 2 days(on days I don't use Nizoral) then Nizoral followed by conditioner on each third day. You can try it yourself and see how much better your hair looks and feels when you don't constantly strip the natural oils from your hair. Use cheap Suave or White Rain or some inexpensive conditioner. Use lots of it. I use about half a cup on my short hair and "wash" using same washing motions, let it set for a couple of min and then rinse with warm water 1 min followed with cool water 1 min. Try it and let me know what you think.

You can also google "conditioner only wash"

well it all depends on how oily your hair is. girls have less oily hair and only need to wash their hair a couple times a week (generally).

personally mine gets quite oily so despite using nizoral every day i never use conditioner.
