Why the fear of buzzing/shaving?

I was watching a program today where these women in their early to mid twenties were discussing what looks good on men. They started off with some clothing points: one woman said she loved guys who can pull of a plain white t-shirt, they said stylish hats look good, suits (obviously), belt buckles could make a difference, pants shouldn't be baggy or too tight (bootlegged is preferred), etc.

Then they got to hairstyles. They all agreed that dreads is probably the worst one. And the best hairstyle? Surpise, surprise, it's the shaved head!! You might be thinking that they only have black/ethnic guys in mind with the shaved head.... nope. They showed clips of nothing but Caucasians rocking the buzzed/shaved head and they went on saying how sexy it looked.

I read posts of people being reluctant to buzz their heads and I'm always baffled by it. I can understand if you have some weird deformity on your head, but the odds are you probably don't and if you think you do, then it's probably not as bad as you think it is. So if you're thinning and are sick and tired of trying to hide it, then go right ahead and buzz it all off. Chances are, the women will find you much sexier.

I know for me, I feel like I get a lot less coverage when it is shaved.

Now, granted, I'm not fooling anyone. You take a look at me from behind and you know I'm balding.

Also, I have my complexion and I don't know, it feels like the hair deflects that somehow.

All very irrational, I know.

How's a #1 look, is it like, that "white" see through to the scalp look, or is it just close cropped, but you can still see the hair color prominently?

If you got somewhat normal caucasian hair, #1 is exactly the see through to the scalp look. At least for me, but I think I have thinner hair than most. In my pic I got #2 on top and #1 on sides. You can't see much hair on the sides can you?

Very true, but as I point out its an alternative for people who are balding. And as I like to say, if your ugly without hair, your no doubt ugly without hair
