but when it's an mental impairment it's ok to say things? like when you called Danny a retard on more than one occasion? i think it's fair to say it's more vicious than anything i've allowed myself to do on this forum so far. i wouldn't have done that even if i do believe he can be a bit slower than advisable. you're not so cuddly and innocent yourself.

again you're unable to look deeper into things and tell apart when someone is really trying to hurt someone and when it's a light-minded joke. or maybe you just don't want to, because it suits your agenda better. yes, in fact, there is a difference between what i did and what happens to people with visible flaws on regular basis.

i was carrying on judging people? i was trying to figure out how one could possibly think it's worse than being bald, i had hard time believing people were being serious.
i think it was a case of coping mechanism and denial, people downplaying and underestimating the real evil (male pattern baldness, can't be reversed) and exaggerating the lesser evil (gyno, fixable).

But i know you was "joking" cause i clearly said "innocent tongue comments? etc etc" but you carried on cant you see they didnt like what you was saying? joking or not? which is what i was trying to say? the issue is not that you was joking or not the issue is that you carried on when it was clear they didnt like it how can you not see that? AGAIN you can joke about other problems but soon someone outside in the real world jokes about going bald you go into a hissy fit and you know it...how can you joke about things and others cant?

I didnt say you was carrying on judging people i said you was carrying on with the gyno subject when it was clear you dont understand and they didnt like what you said "tittes on a man is funny." how can it suit my agenda when others can see what im saying aswell? you been called out on this subject by others.

I think I'm my favourite NW5... Seriously, who in the section is truly bald and still down to earth? We have UCman and slipy crying over how people make fun of their hair loss as they laugh at other people's physical flaws. We have seb obsessing about his facial hair. Maybe Thom and House aren't bald, but their posts are so much more constructive. This is what this section of the forum needs.

My "obsession" over my facial hair is largely bourne out of peoples obsession over MY facial hair.

It didn't really become a problem for me until I noticed the difference in way people treated me. True enough.

Exactly. Why am "obsessed " over my facial hair when I have sported a goatee for 10years, and why I am "obsessed" over my lack of hair, when I have been bald since I was 23. Was never this "obsessed" then. It is years of comments that have made me believe "hey there must be something wrong with the way I look"

'I would have random people at school walk up and give me titty twisters in the hall.'

i have all the sympathy for u in the world, but i lol'ed when i read that, as i know how much it hurts, but its still funny when its someone else. i guess its just something about being human, we enjoy watching pain when its someone else. if u dont believe me, how many of u watched the tsunami footage from japan, when it was on tv, knowing full well, way down there thousands were being killed.

its lyrics in a tool song. 'why cant we just admit it, why cant we just admit it, we wont hit pause until the blood is flowing'.

that said, ur alive arent u? not dying of cancer? not picking through a garbage dump for tonights dinner while being stalked by gangs of thugs with machetes.

things could always be worse. noone owes us a living or good looks, or a healthy body. If a god does exist, he/she isnt sitting there planinng how to wreck our lives by making our hair fall out.

we are lucky we are at the top of the food chain. other mammals have to worry about getting eaten everyday. for us, we think something is against us, or we are unlucky or forsaken if we dont make it to old age.

then again im reading a hairloss forum looking for answers same as everyone.

Hey I've been long rid of the problem and if I had it now it wouldn't be as hard. Im not looking for sympathy here, just saying I was a teen (which are by default insecure already) and I know how hard it can be for people. I don't feel sorry for myself if that's what you're implying and I understand people laughing at such an occurrence. But when you have guys on here talking about the evil people who make fun of their lack of hair yet turn around and make fun of forum members who have gyno: no I'll never be fine with such blatant hypocrisy.

That is very true, I guess it's just human nature to judge what we don't understand. Sounds like you handle it well though. My gut reaction is usually to go on the defensive and equally hurt them but that's neither nature nor right. I've worked on that but it seems like you're good about taking the high road.

People don't think anything of baldness until it starts happening to them.

Seriously, nobody who is NW1 has said anything about my thinning hair. It's only been guys who are NW2> that have noticed anything and that's because they're judging everyone against themselves. I do the same thing.

I'm sorry to Fred and GHG about my offensive comment, really. Anything that puts us outside the range of "normal" and makes us stick out like a sore thumb does require a considerable amount of concern. With that said, gyno is easier to fix than male pattern baldness. That is not to say that it can't be as traumatic or embarrassing because I'm sure it is, particularly if it is you who are experiencing it.

LOL. My hairloss is getting more and more ridiculous by the day. Now my left temple has started to go. The other side of hairline is still completely intact and has a strip of normal-density hair but the other has started to thin extremely... so now I have very thin hair everywhere on top except my right temple. **** THIS DISEASE.

Feel for you GHG. Tell me, how are your friends/family dealing with your situation? Are they supportive? Do they tease you? Do you wear a hat when you venture out?

Thanks for the supportive words. Gladly I haven't faced any teasing yet. Almost everyone in my family is thinning/balding except my sister, so they can't really say anything :D. Sometimes I wear a hat but I've managed not to hide under one anymore, like I did for a long time. The only solution for me is to keep my hair very short and neat as it looks awful and highlights the thinning when grown out even a little.

I am still able to fake a strong NW2 hairline using concealers and some nifty styling.

Currently slowing the process down, though I don't think it will stop since I refuse to use finasteride.

Just gotta make it to 30. 7 years to go...sigh.

7 years? Feel for you, man. I've been on this forum for 7 years and am now 30. I first thought that if I could make it to 25 with hair I'd be ok... I'm still not ok at 30.

LOL what did I just read? It's not like I've been here 24/7 for 7 yrs. I've also been on a soccer forum for over 10 years, on various music related forums and even on a low-carber forum for some time but I've still managed to do some other things on the side you know...
