I don't like this new gel. I can't apply it to my beard anymore cuz when I do it dries so fast and is so visible that I have to take all the residue off my face and I don't think is as effective if at all when I leave it for that short amount time so my beard kind of stopped getting thinner. Wneh I apply it to my hair I leave it on for the night but in the morning it is snow all over my scalp so I have to wash it off. I think I am going to look for something else even though it is effective it's just pain in the butt. I have few options left which is Genhair flutamide, lipoxidil flutamide and that would be all. i emailed sinere but it seems like they are not in the hurry to change it back to the way it was. I know I am just one person but that other gel was just perfect and this one is total opposite.
:thumbdown2:

bummer man...hopefully they will wise up and switch it back to the old formula, they must be getting a lot of complaints.

I am getting a little regrowth on the hair line with this now after only 2 months so I'm looking forward to the 6 month mark. Unless the new stuffs not as good!

I'm also quietly optimistic - I'm just over the two month mark and am definitely seeing hair where there hasn't been hair for several years. And I don't mean crappy minoxidil type vellus hair - I mean terminal and enough of them to note very sparse areas on my scalp filling in. I have a double-crown, a strip of hair with balding on each side and I can definitely gauge the regrowth from that - each spot is filling in, at the moment the right more so than the left. But the left spot has been thin for many years now - it would be a miracle to get that back.

I didn't get this much regrowth on 18 months of that s*** Rogaine.

nice to hear, how many times a day you apply just once all over scalp?

Sorry for the delay replying - I'm applying it twice a day, morning and night, I only use a very little on the crown and vertex. Thus far the vertex has been thinning more, but the crown is experiencing noticeable regrowth. That doesn't make any sense to me but I'm hoping the vertex thinning is temporary. I'm approaching 3 months and impressed, I'd cautiously recommend Flutagel. :)

Next week (27th) it’ll be my 3 month mark as well, my hair still seems to be shedding/getting thinner all over the top of my head but I am getting thick little hairs coming up around the hairline, very strange, It seems to be working on my hairline but not even maintaining on the crown area? I'm still hoping things are going to start thickening up all over soon, fingers crossed.

I'm beginning to wonder about hyper-reflex - and if the body is upping androgen levels to compensate against the use of Flut. So previously unaffected hair might suddenly be vulnerable. Might also mean the absorption of Flutagel into the body is evident and that could be why Sinere have changed the gel - less absorption, less reflex.

I'l be ordering a batch if the new gel soon.

I've experienced a few thicker hairs where I applied the Flutagel, but overall accelerated thinning.

I've quit the Flutagel and went back to minoxidil and nizoral and it seems to be helping.

I would've liked to continue the Flutagel experiment, but I would be at the head-shaving stage in about a month.

Good luck to all with Flutagel. I'll be watching for progress reports.

Having read all what people have said i'm gonna give this Flutagel a go. Have spent the last 2 and a bit years steadily decling into a NW2a and just starting to experience a small thinning of the crown.
You can view my before pictures in the about me pages and I have my head shaved to a number 2 so I dont mind keeping it short to see how the results pan out.
1 guinea pig ready to go :)

did you guys order from sinere direct?

if so i gotta say there website don't look the best and they only accept payment by paypal. also the description reads

'Flutagel is an innovative novelty on the world market' - the word novelty worries me!!

About to order 3x flutagel and 3 x nanominox FMS!! Could use some confirmation this is a legit operation!!

I agree their presentation sucks, but they are a small-time outfit. I think, in translation, they've mistaken the word unique for the word novelty.

The operation is legit, by Paypal through Sinere's website. Shipping can be slow but has improved lately. There's lots of info over at Regrowth.com, and a guy from the company posts there regularly.

If I could afford it I'd pick up some nanominox too.

to all those using flutagel: did you quit minoxidil while using flutagel? is it ok to apply minoxidil after flut if it is around say 6-8 hours later, or would that still mess with the systematic absorption?

All I know is Sinere don't recommend using alcohol based topicals while using Flutagel because the gel is designed to suspend the Flut in the scalp - regular minoxidil could drag that Flut into the bloodstream so you'd get the side effects (if any) and few of the benefits (if any). You could try it for a little while. I quit Rogaine foam because it was doing very little for me anyway and I'm glad to be rid of it.

Sorry to have to say and post this but I've been examining my vertex closely and think the thinning is becoming seriously extensive since beginning Flutagel - in point of fact, if it continues like this I will be slick bald across the top of my scalp within a very few months. This massive downer is off-set by in a small way by some regrowth in the crown but the latter is no way worth the former.

If I don't see an end to this vertex thinning within the next month or so I will HAVE to drop this stuff.

sh*t.

Why drop Flutagel ? you have to realize that this 1% preparation might be too mild to stop aggressive hairloss on its own.

Take a hint from RonLev's MDF Lotion: 2% of Flutamide AND the equivalent of 2.5 daily of dutasteride..AND 15% minoxidil

You need to fight DHT from different angles at the same time if you have aggressive hairloss. We can also assume that the body is up-regulating some DHT or AR activity to compensate for what is going on after Flutagel is used....

I take oral dutasteride 0.5 AND Flutagel. Very happy with results so far after 2.5 months.
I am going to add Fluridil , I already ordered 3 boxes. Finasgel is on its way as well.

My Planned Regimen:
1)decrease scalp DHT by 50% (0.5 dutasteride oral/day)
2)decrease more scalp DHT (Finasgel topical 1/day)
3)decrease the number of AR at the follicules (Fluridil EOD)
4)decrease the amount of leftover DHT binding to the remaining AR (Flutagel EOD)

Good Luck

I can tell you with my right hand on my heart that this stuff works. I am so satisfied what it did to my beard that daily shaving isn't a drag any more and with on going applications my beard will become really light and no shadow will be visible. This stuff is very good antiandrogen. Now on to the side effects nothing major to say but for the last week My libido is quite low. Maybe it's one of those phases that will pass but my libido is usually very high to the point that (I just leave this to your imagonation) Anyway I hope libido comes back but even though I am happy cuz I can get much more stuff done during a day when I don't think 24/7 about chicks.lol
anyway
Flutagel rules except I don't like viscosity other than that it's the best thing since the slice bread.
later gators

What do you think is the difference between the terms "vertex" and "crown"?

Some observations from my experience:

Flutagel didn't give me sides except for (apparent) increase in shedding. I did have a few (very few) thicker hairs come in where I applied it.

Since stopping Flutagel, the shedding has subsided significantly.

Restarting minoxidil seems to be causing a lot of vellus growth; more than it did for me in the past.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable can help draw conclusions, but it seems to me that the flut was probably absorbed into my system.

If the minoxidil continues to work, I'll consider cycling between minoxidil and flutagel.

If I were to continue flutagel, I would increase my finasteride dose or try dutasteride. I won't though because more than .25 mg of finasteride gives me undesirable sides, and it's not worth it to me.

so have you regrown any hair on your scalp?

just because something is a strong antiandrogen, doesn't necessarily mean it will be good for hair loss.
